Thymic Protein A - Immune System Support frequently asked questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How does ProBoost® Thymic Protein A (TPA) work?

ProBoost® TPA has been examined by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and described as an immune modulator and anti-viral agent. Immunologist Dr. Terry Beardsley, PhD, is one of the world's leading authorities on the thymus gland and its crucial importance for the proper functioning of the immune system. He spent the past 25 years studying the thymus gland and discovered the existence of TPA. He currently holds a US and international patents – both composition of matter and use. His discovery was published in several scientific journals, including the Journal of the National Academy of Sciences.

It has been scientifically proven that TPA is an essential substance, necessary for the proper functioning of the immune system; specifically the portion named "cell-mediated immunity” which controls how viruses, bacteria, and other harmful agents are controlled and disposed of by the immune system. Each of the 12 trillion molecules of TPA in a single packet of ProBoost® contains an important "transmitter" which seeks out the T-4 helper white blood cell and attaches to it to activate the cell. The T-4 helper cell is the "brain" of the immune system and controls critical infection-fighting cells such as the T-8 killer cells and T-8 suppressor cells, by secreting chemical messengers called cytokines, such as interleukin-2 and interferon. When the body has a sufficient amount of properly working T-4 cells, proper amounts of cytokines are made to allow the entire system to function properly, even in the presence of suppressive drugs or infections! If a person has sufficient activated T-4 cells in the blood, these cells can call upon the body to produce new T-4 cells, new white blood cells and new red blood cells, thus actually raising their count!

Dr. Beardsley's groundbreaking research has proven that the T-4 helper cells, after they are formed, are NOT fully functional unless they come into direct contact with TPA. Thus he discovered a natural and necessary substance in the body, which can control and preserve immunity, leading to a longer, healthier lifespan!

Who should take ProBoost® Thymic Protein A and what is the recommended dose?

Anyone who is suffering with, or concerned about, a low immune system function. This would include people who have acute or chronic conditions that arise due to poor immune function. The key cell that immunologists measure to determine the strength of the immune system is the T-4 helper white blood cell. The normal range of these cells in blood is 500-1500 (mm3). If the number of these cells is below 500, a person is considered to have a low immune response. Such individuals will have a lessened ability to respond to disease-causing agents. Such agents can lurk in the body, becoming active when the immune system falters.

In addition, anyone, even a healthy individual, who wishes to maximize quality of life and longevity should consider taking a regular protective dose of ProBoost® TPA, which is one packet every three days. Those who suffer from infections and/or lowered immunity may wish to take I to 3 packets daily.

Anyone who has had many courses of antibiotics, who may have compromised immunity, should consider strengthening their immune system. Many environmental factors often reduce immune system function because they target healthy as well as unhealthy cells. In addition, many individuals over the age of 40, as well as those who have been expose to toxins, may have a poorly functioning thymus gland, which cannot release sufficient quantities of TPA, and thus cannot activate sufficient T-4 helper cells. This statement has not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

What will I feel when I Take TPA?

The immediate effects of taking a packet of TPA vary from a sensation of warmth and energy to no particular short-term change in feeling. The longer-term effects (days or weeks) are often an increase in energy, well-being, strength, improved sleep patterns, and improved immunity. All of these benefits can result from an improvement in immune function.

What's in the packet of ProBoost®?

Each packet of ProBoost® contains 500 milligrams of powder. The contents contain maltodextrin, a pleasant, mildly sweet powder made from corn syrup solids and 4 micrograms (12 trillion molecules) of potent active Thymic Protein A.

Is ProBoost® safe? How is it made?

ProBoost® is extremely safe. It is made by cell culture in only one laboratory in the world, under the direct supervision of Dr. Beardsley. It is made from stored frozen cells taken from the thymus of one US calf, which was selected and sacrificed 11 years ago. No animals are sacrificed to make TPA.

Because TPA is highly purified, all other proteins, fragments, or substances are filtered out, leaving only the single Thymic Protein A, which is then freeze-dried and mixed with maltodextrin.

NOTE: ProBoost® does not contain wheat or dairy products.

What are the results of scientific studies?

Scientific studies, performed on in vitro cells, animals, and humans, have all shown significant benefits in supporting and strengthening the immune system by activating the T-4 helper cells. Reported results include increased immunity, improving sleep and energy, and restoring quality of life for ill individuals. A strong immune system is necessary to be healthy in a world that is full of stress, drugs, poor quality food, and many toxins that are transmitted by air, water, food, and other means.

What is ProBoost® and how does it work?

It has been long established by medical science that a strong immune system increases life span by protecting the body from the daily attacks of pathogens in our environment. We know that the immune system is a complex network that is designed to defend the body against all types of attack.

Of all the cells in the immune system the T-4 helper cell is the most important because it serves as the controller of many key functions of immunity. It is like the “conductor” who keeps an orchestra playing in tempo and in tune. Newly born T-4 helper cells migrate from the bone marrow to the thymus gland where they are programmed to stimulate an immune response.

The thymus gland, which is the centerpiece of the immune system, gradually decreases in size and functionality beginning at age three. By age 40, the thymus gland is no longer capable of producing sufficient levels of a critical protein, thymic Protein A, needed to program T-cells to jump-start an immune response.

The active ingredient in ProBoost® is thymic protein A, the critical protein which programs the body’s T-cells to stimulate an immune system response. A daily dose of ProBoost® will supplement this critical thymic protein A.

ProBoost® can make a major difference in the longevity by strengthening the immune system through its T-cell “programming” role. The more T-cells that are properly functioning, the more immune response may be mounted against all environmental assaults which are constantly attacking the body.

What are the benefits of taking ProBoost®?

The benefits of strengthening the immune system with ProBoost® include increased stamina, energy, feeling of well-being, and wellness.

In the five years that ProBoost® has been available, anecdotal reports have shown protection against improvement from a number of conditions related to lowered immunity.

The National Institute of Health, Division of AIDS, has tested Thymic Protein A, the active ingredient in ProBoost®, and has determined that it is an immune system stimulant and viral suppressor.

How did ProBoost® come into being?

Over the past six years since Thymic Protein A was introduced as an oral nutritional supplement, several human studies have further substantiated the scientific findings that this protein ALONE, in its purified state, has tremendous immune regulation capabilities as both a stimulant and a down-regulating agent, depending on the body's requirements. Two studies were completed one involving chronic fatigue syndrome (CFIDS) which showed improvement both clinically and by diagnostic testing, the second study involving Epstein-Barr (EBV) patients, it also showed improvements both clinically and by diagnostic testing. Most significantly, this enhanced immunity is produced at microgram does (generally 4-12 micrograms daily). Thousands of individuals have consumed this product, and hundreds of medical doctors are using it for a variety of immune-related illnesses with no adverse reactions from this highly purified, extremely safe, low-dose protein molecule. Thymic Protein A is produced at only one site in the entire world, under the personal control and supervision of Dr. Beardsley, who is committed to maintaining the high scientific standards which he established in the research and manufacture of this product over the past 30 years. Future studies, already in progress, will expand the range of application of this scientifically proven product.

How do you take ProBoost®?

ProBoost® is sold as a powder in sealed individual dose packets, administered under the tongue, where it rapidly dissolves. Boxes are sold containing 30 packets.

The suggested use is from 1-3 packets per day. Those who wish to maintain their immune function on a regular basis may use one packet daily, or every other day. Higher doses are not harmful and may actually produce additional benefits.

ProBoost® recommended dosage for children is 1 packet 3 times per day

Is ProBoost® a drug?

ProBoost® is not a drug. The product is a naturally occurring substance within the human body. ProBoost® contains the same protein produced by your body’s thymus gland which naturally regulates the immune system.

Have any negative side effects been reported?

No serious side effects have been reported.

In a few cases, people have experience very mild like flu symptoms when first starting ProBoost®. Shortly thereafter the symptoms subside. These initial symptoms occur because by taking ProBoost® you are activating the immune system. This seemingly negative effect is actually the beneficial effects of your own immune system to fight.

Does ProBoost® have any competition?

There are no orally active patented Thymic Protein A products available. There are, however, a number of oral capsule/tablet thymic proteins in unpurified form sold in health food stores. These products are mixtures of many thymic proteins and all have the inherent problems of degradation by stomach acids and potential side effects from interaction of proteins.

What is the optimal dosage of ProBoost®?

  • For acute conditions use three packets per day or as directed by a health practitioner. Empty packet under your tongue and allow it to
    dissolve for 1-3 minutes.

  • Once symptoms have subsided, and your body‘s immune response has been restored, a maintenance dose of one packet per day is
    recommended.

  • ProBoost® should be taken 1 hour before or 1 hour after meals of optimal absorption.

  • ProBoost® recommended dosage for children is 1 packet 3 times per day.
